About us

Established in 2007, Gavin McDermott and his team of FA and UEFA licensed coaches have developed Major League Football Academy (MLFA) into a leading grassroots football programme in Hong Kong.

Currently, over 400 players in the academy all enjoy the guidance of MLFA coaches who emphasize the development of the whole person, not just the player. Building on our successful youth development foundation, with boys and girls from 4-18 years old, MLFA also leads the Standard Perpetual MLFA senior men's and women's teams in the HKFA Leagues, completing the elite youth pathway for players from beginners through elite.

Afghanistan WNT Head Coach and former US collegiate, professional and WNT player Kelly Lindsey will be leading the MLFA Coach Education programme utilizing her 16+ years experience in the field. Kelly has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in player development from youth through to elite level players as well as mentoring coaches at all tiers of the game.
